Tap Tavern

THE BRIEF

The Tap Tavern marketing team needed professional food photos to promote their Sunday Roast Menu as well as their high-quality gins to be enjoyed in the summer. The pictures of food and drink would be used on their website, as well as on their social media channels.

THE SOLUTION

The aim of the photo shoots was to create food shots that showed off what the Tap Tavern do best – good food and a passion for great drinks. Additionally, we needed to capture the cosy but modern interiors of the pub, which also provided a great backdrop to create the perfect plate of food or cocktail.

To match the stylish interiors of the gastro pub, I created some bold images, focusing on mouth-watering details, such as gravy being poured on slices of beef. I used a combination of artificial light, natural lighting and shallow depth of field to create a warm and welcoming mood.

The gin photo shoot took place in summer, so we styled the drink shots with lots of ice, sliced citrus fruits and other exotic garnishes. We also created some macro shots, which focused on details such as ice cubes and tonic bubbles in the cocktail shots.

­­­In 2020, the team behind the Tap Tavern launched Drop Kick Jonny’s, a secret whiskey and cocktail saloon in the Tap Tavern’s attic. I spent an afternoon photographing the new space and provided the imagery currently being used on their website.
