Spice Kitchen is a family run artisan producer of spice tin gift sets (masala dabba’s) along with handmade spice blends, loose teas and cookware. They were also the winner of Great Taste Award in 2015 and 2021.
Each year, Spice Kitchen adds a dozen new products to their collection. Relying heavily on retail sales prior to Covid, they needed to boost their on-line offering and needed high quality food and product photography. They were also launching some new products and also needed packaging photography for the website and distributor ecommerce sites.
Working closely with the marketing team, I created food images with depth and richness by using natural textures and darker backgrounds. Moodier lighting was also used to create a high-end food feel that could compete with products from stores like M&S or Waitrose.
I worked on a variety of photoshoots including packaging photos, online advertising, social media posts and stop-motion animation. Products included Dan Toombs curry powder, kebab skewers, bombay mix as well as a selection their award-winning spice tins and hot chocolate.
The food and packaging photography is being used on the Spice Kitchen labels, websites, blogs as well as on other online distributor sites such Etsy and Amazon.
