THE BRIEF

Orée had recently had some professional food photos taken with a food stylist but felt the images didn’t convey the passion and atmosphere that made their bakeries so special.

After the first lockdown, they also needed to update their online bakery and wanted to create more engaging food photos that focused on the artisan baking and dessert making.

The brief was to focus more on the products and to create simple but irresistible food photography that captured the beautiful details, showing the freshness of the ingredients as well as the artisanal skills needed to create the delicious pastries.

THE SOLUTION

I spent half a day in their Fulham shop and half a day in the production facility in Acton. With the help of my assistant and the Orée founders, I created a mini-library of professional food images which focused mainly on their desserts and artisan bread.

I used a variety of techniques and camera settings, including a shallow depth of field and artificial light, as well as natural light from the window in the store.

The images are now used as hero images on the Orée website, as well as on their online store.
